Privacy Policy

Bytes After Dark makes small, self-contained creative tools. This policy explains what data the website and the apps handle. The short version: we don't run analytics, we don't use tracking cookies, and we don't ask you to create an account.

The short version

• We don't track you — no analytics, no advertising, no tracking cookies.
• No account or sign-in is required to use the apps.
• Our browser and desktop apps keep your work on your own device.
• The only personal data we ever receive is what you choose to send us — for example, by emailing us.

The website

This site (bytesafterdark.com) is a static page hosted on Cloudflare Pages. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics scripts. Two third parties are involved in delivering it:

• Cloudflare hosts and serves the site. As part of normal operation and security, Cloudflare processes basic technical information such as your IP address and browser type in its server logs. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
• Google Fonts supplies the typefaces. The site loads them from Google's servers, which means Google receives your IP address when the fonts are fetched. See Google's Privacy Policy.

The apps

Our apps — parametri, cophony, mutnt, greybox, and others — are designed to run entirely in your browser or on your own computer:

• They don't require an account or sign-in.
• The projects, files, and settings you create are stored locally — in your browser's storage or as files on your device — not on our servers.
• We don't collect or transmit the content you make with them.

If a specific app ever needs to handle data differently, that will be made clear within the app itself.

Contact

If you email us at hello@bytesafterdark.com, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply and to help with whatever you contacted us about. We don't add you to any mailing list.

Cookies

We don't use cookies for tracking, advertising, or analytics. The website sets no cookies of its own.

Your rights

Because we hold almost no personal data, there is usually little to request. If you've emailed us and would like that correspondence deleted, or you have any question about your data, contact hello@bytesafterdark.com and we'll help. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you — for example under the GDPR or CCPA.

Children

Our tools are not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from them.

Changes to this policy

If we add anything that changes how data is handled — for example, optional analytics — we'll update this page and the "last updated" date above before doing so.
